Suboxone (Buprenorphine/Naloxone) Approved In European Union for Treatment of
Opioid Dependence
Schering-Plough Corporation
today announced that the European Commission has granted marketing approval to
SUBOXONE(R) (buprenorphine hydrochloride/naloxone hydrochloride) Sublingual
Tablets for the substitution treatment of opioid dependence, within a framework
of medical, social and psychological treatment. The intention of adding the
naloxone component is to deter intravenous misuse.

Merck & Co Inc's Gardasil, the first vaccine
to prevent cervical cancer, has been approved for sale in the Europe Union, the

Altana sells drugs unit to Nycomed for 4.5

chemicals group Altana will sell its drugs business to Denmark's Nycomed for
